Opening of the exhibition "Creative cities, artistic towns and fantastic villages
" with the performance Pedalab by the Orphaneus

 
Even the Orphaneus want to ride the wave of sustainability that has been greenwashing global off-shores these years. 
With this performance they reexamine concepts of sustainability and mobility; habitats and housing; recycling and ecology; exploration and improvisation by fusing a tent with a shopping cart, a bicycle with a surfboard and a coat hanger on wheels… Trying to hack it all into a pedalab with a homobile, a hydroponic garden and some compost... Or at least turn it into a sculptural piece that is also the stage for their slightly satirical performance.
While neither one of these creations may be practical for most people or considered as art by critics, they do pose questions about possible living alternatives.

The Orphaneus is a group of artists from Skopje, Macedonia inspired by DADA artistic practice (fictional language, music improvisations, poetry and political comments). They exist as a music band, as well. The main element of their concept is improvisation. In their performances they use various kinds of instruments, such as children toys, traditional Macedonian musical instruments, classical musical instruments, etc.
